In the upcoming months, Capcom is going to be releasing
Street Fighter 2 Super Turbo HD (xbox 360 arcade)
Street Fighter 4 (PC, Arcade cab, Xbox 360)
and Tatsunoko vs. Capcom (Not sure on consoles)
Edmonton has a very dedicated Street fighter player base, and are very competitive. Currently, aside from peoples homes, Circuit Circus in West Edmonton mall provides Capcom Vs SNK 2, Marvel Vs Capcom 2, and Street Fighter 3rd Strike on Arcade cabinets, and (when the machines aren't busted) they receive dedicated attention, even with the games going on 8 years old.
EDIT: I noticed there is a Street Fighter 2 Arcade there. can anyone confirm if it is super turbo, or not?
There's a lot of Buzz over these new games, and this may be a mutual opportunity. With 3 new Street fighter games being released, all older SF community players are going back to the arcade to enjoy a possible return. The Street fighter community needs a place where tourney's can be potentially held, and prices are reasonable, to maintain the social aspects of the game.
If prices were reasonable, I could immagine the relaxed environment AP-Gaming provides could be an ideal place for these people to meet at a central location and duke it out. The only thing I can immagine would be necessary are solid joystick setups if you chose to use console versions of the game. Understandably, cabinets can be expensive.
regardless, this may be a venture worth exploring.
